The Bremen Community Fire Department consists of a full time fire chief, 27 volunteer firefighters and 10 auxiliary substitutes, and provides fire protection for the Town of Bremen, Indiana and German Township of Marshall County, Indiana. The department has 12 fire vehicles that can handle all types of fire emergences including brush and wild fires. This equipment and personnel is responsible for 63 square miles of fire protection. The Town of Bremen has a Class 5 rating for fire insurance. The fire department is funded by the Town of Bremen, German Township Trustee and an Advisory Board along with donations from the Bremen Volunteer Fireman's Association, Inc.

The department holds an annual fire prevention class for school children, day cares, adults and senior citizens.
